photo-216Good morning! If you follow me on social media, then you probably noticed yesterday that I made an announcement about opening a headband shop!

As many of you know, making headbands for my twin girls has become a fun hobby for me. I’ve learned a lot over the last year and love experimenting with new fabrics, designs, and materials.

When I started making them I never anticipated that I’d open a shop, but after receiving several orders from friends and family, I’ve decided to give it a go.

I’ve been going back and forth about this for a while. I have to admit I’m a little nervous about having time to do it all. One of the things I try to be intentional about as a stay-at-home mom is not overcommitting myself to opportunities outside my kids. I feel that God’s called me to make them my first priority at this point in my life, and I want to make sure I’m being obedient and following through with that.

For this reason, in order to feel peace about opening a shop, I decided that I’d need to be able to control how much time I spent on it. So, for now my shop will be on Instagram only. I’ll be making much of the inventory ahead of time, and when I have enough stored up to sell, I’ll be hosting flash pop up sales!

The headbands will be sold on a first come first serve basis, and when they’re gone I’ll start making more for the next sale!

All transactions will be made using PayPal. I’ll post a picture of the headband for sale, tell you how many are available, and if you want to buy one you simply need to leave your PayPal email. From there I’ll send you an invoice and as soon as you pay I’ll ship out your purchase!

I’m planning to start small, and see where it goes. It’s kind of nerve racking putting myself out there, but I’m excited to share my passion for all things girly with you!

With that said, if you’re interested in checking out my flash sales, I’d like to invite you to follow my shop on Instagram. It’s called Ivywood and Harvest (@ivywoodandharvest)!

A little about the name: Ivywood and Harvest is an intersection I hit when I get close to home. When I turn that corner, I know it won’t be long until I’m cozied up at home spending quality time with my family. Calling my shop Ivywood and Harvest is my way of saying, “From my home to yours!”

I’d love if you’d head on over and follow @ivywoodandharvest today!

My first flash sale will take place tomorrow Friday May 2nd, 2014 at 2:00pm CST! Hope to see you there!

XOXO,

Amber

  4. […] I’ve been fortunate to meet some really sweet friends since we moved to Minnesota, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to tell you about one of them today. Her name is Abby and she is quite possibly one of the most sincere and thoughtful people I know. She blesses me with encouragement constantly and is always willing to go the extra mile, most recently co-hosting a garage sale with me! She has two adorable boys who keep her busy, and on top of being a SAHM finds time to crochet beautiful handmade items. She opened up an Etsy shop called Brother Earth Boutique a little over a year ago and has had nonstop sales ever since. I’m so proud of her and how dedicated she is to her family and her business. She spends many late nights cranking out orders and does whatever it takes to make sure her customers are more than satisfied with their purchases. She is truly an inspiration to me, especially as I embark on my little headband adventure. […]
