Hello, friends! Before I get to the weekly recap, I want to wish a special Happy Birthday to my dear friend Sarah today! Sarah and I were born within a month of each other and have been good friends since we were babies in the nursery together at church. She is one of the most caring, funny, and humble people I know, and while we live many states apart now I’m incredibly thankful for what a loyal and compassionate friend she is. Here’s an oldie but goodie pic just for you, Sar! Love ya lots! Happy Birthday Sarah

It was another ordinary week around here, watching Baylen continue to grow into a little boy more each day. IMG_7576He is catching on to the idea of praying, and will randomly stop several times mid-meal, fold his hands, intensely close his eyes, and mumble a prayer. And he doesn’t like to do it alone. He’ll wait for us to join in with him. All of his prayers are followed by clapping and lots of “yays!” IMG_7586We’ve been spending lots of time upstairs in the toy room. I try to keep the majority of his toys in that room to keep the craziness somewhat contained. We added a couple pieces of furniture to the toy room this week in preparation for when the girls come so I can sit up there comfortably and Baylen can play as I nurse and hold them. IMG_7597Crazy bath hair! His hair grows so fast. A trip to get it cut is on the list before the girls get here. IMG_7607We have successfully transitioned into one nap for Baylen a day, in the afternoon, and he’s been killing it! Most days this week he slept between 2.5 – 3 hours, and then wakes up looking dazed like this, which results in a few minutes of cuddle time with Mommy before he gets going again. I love those precious moments! IMG_7617Daddy’s gotten to cash in on some cuddles too, usually in the early morning, when he’s been encouraging me to sleep in a little bit a few days a week. My husband is so good to me! IMG_7620This weekend Jake’s parents were in town. Baylen had fun showing Nana some of his books!IMG_7627He also had fun while Grandpa held him when we were out and about. IMG_7641Last night we went on a shopping trip with the intentions of getting Baylen some “big brother” presents. We let him run through the toy aisles, which is usually my worst nightmare, but with Jake there it was manageable when we needed to peel him away and tell him we were all done. We made it through with only a minor tantrum. We took the toys home, and I’m gonna wrap them up this week. Then when we return home from the hospital with the girls and there are times when I think Bay could use a little extra attention, we’re planning to pull out his special big brother gifts. IMG_7650This weekend we put together the awesome stroller my parents got for us! It’s a Valco Baby and I am in love. My mom and dad did lots of research because they knew I’d want to be able to get out and about and jog with the kiddos when the weather warms up. This was one of the few that offered an option to transform it into a triple stroller while keeping it a manageable size to maneuver through doors and paths. I’m excited to get this baby out on the open road! Baylen had fun trying out his “Joey seat” last night. He thinks he’s pretty cool getting to ride up there. IMG_7660Baylen continues to be such a little helper. He is becoming a master at the Swiffer Vac. He doesn’t let me skip a day! IMG_7665While he’s serious about cleaning, he’s such a little goofball too. We had quite a bit of sunny weather this week which meant I pulled out my sunglasses. They are quickly becoming one of his favorite things to play with. He loves playing peek-a-boo with them and is quite proud of himself now that he knows how to put them on and take them off on his own.

With that, I’m off to watch Celebrity Apprentice with Jake tonight. It’s easily his favorite show, so we’re pulling out all the stops for the premiere by making popcorn and dark chocolate covered pretzels. I love date nights on the couch!

Hope you had a great week!

I love my valco single stroller! Knew you could put the Joey seat in the single but not the double. bonus there! Valco is a great brand. Not well known, but really good quality.
