We’re a few days into our journey of raising our newborn twin girls and their brother who’s 17 months old, and we’re surviving! In fact, we’re having a blast. Yes, it’s busy, and yes, we’re going on minimal sleep, but the girls are the sweetest little things, and it’s been so precious to see Baylen settle into his role as their big brother.

Ever since I met these sweethearts on Tuesday, my heart hasn’t stopped growing with love for them.

I had to share this picture because we laughed at how many compliments Jake got from the hospital staff on his genius idea to bring an air mattress to sleep on in the hospital room. As he said, this wasn’t his first time to the rodeo and since our room was huge, there was no reason he had to sleep on an uncomfortable couch again. Baylen had fun playing on it when he visited too!

IMG_9039I was discharged on Thursday, and we assumed the girls would probably have to stay another night or two to be monitored. We were pleasantly surprised when we spoke to their pediatrician that morning and he said they were free to go home with us! They had to take a car seat test since they were so tiny, but thankfully they both passed!

Thankfully we received an amazing package of premie clothes in the mail from my friend Megan! Such a blessing to have clothes that fit. It may take them some time to grow into their pacifiers, however.

I’m feeding them every three hours, and by the end of each feeding they are content and ready to go back to sleep.

We love when we get to see their beautiful eyes open!

Joey and Madison came on Saturday and blessed us so much by helping us around the house and running errands. Aunt Madi helped me feed the girlies too!

Jake has some time off work and it has been amazing having time as a family of five at home. We are into a good groove, and Jake and Baylen have been taking such good care of me and the girls. Baylen, of course, is always thrilled when it’s time to vacuum. Today he even got to use the big vacuum by himself for a few seconds. He was pretty excited – that boy’s love for cleanliness never ceases to crack me up!

Jake gets up with Baylen in the mornings. They’ve been enjoying their Daddy and son breakfast dates.

We’ve received so many wonderful gifts, and one was a bouquet of cookies. The result was a toddler on a sugar high, as evidenced in this video.

That’s all for now! I’m off to sneak in an hour of sleep before the next feeding! Thank you for your continued prayers for us and our kids. We have three kids now – CRAZY!

Blessings to you, friends!

I have so many comments for this post! Just precious. Baby in the newborn clothes looks like an oompa loompa (an adorable one). Baylen’s laugh is hilarious. The girls are so sweet looking, I can’t imagine how sweet they must be in person. And I love their embroidered blankets! I can’t believe you have time for a blog post, but keep ’em coming if you have energy to spare! Love to you all!
