Well, we made it through the month of October! I didn’t quiiiite post every day like I sought out to, but life happens, and amidst how busy our little household is, I’d say 26 or 27 posts out of 31 days was pretty good!
More importantly I enjoyed the challenge of looking for God in the ordinary moments of life. This series really helped me to take each day captive and pause to notice how God is at work through the little things. I sincerely hope I continue to build upon this habit and make it a lifestyle. I desperately want to impress upon my kids how faithful the Lord is, and that He is with us all the time, cheering us on to do His will.
We finished out the month yesterday by doing our part in the Halloween festivities and passing out candy to the cute little (or not so cute or little) trick-or-treaters (i.e. the high schooler dressed up as a baby sucking a pacifier – awkward). Anyway, Baylen dressed up as a tiger again this year because well, his costume from last year still fit, we didn’t feel like spending money on a new one, and he didn’t remember his first feline appearance anyway! He spent the evening on constant look-out for trick-or-treaters and I’m sure gave them quite the scare when they saw him from the window. It was really fun to see him interact with the other kids, even though he kept a secret stash of candy that he wouldn’t share. The whole thing made me excited to celebrate future holidays with him and to teach him traditions, most of which are much more important than Halloween. I love making memories with my kids!
Thank you for following along on this 31 Days challenge. I’m hoping to get back to normal posting now, which will include a little more variety!
Have a GREAT weekend!
Love,
Amber

Yes, I noticed a LOT of older kids trick or treating. I guess there is worse things for them to be doing. : – )
Thanks for writing – I enjoyed reading your posts this month!
