Today the girls and I tried out a new beach! I’ve heard so many friends talk about it, but we had yet to experience it for ourselves! We actually tried to go over Christmas break when my family was in the town but the parking lot was jam packed so we drove next door to Seagate Beach. Clam Pass Park is a Collier County Park, but it’s also connected to the Naples Grande Beach Resort. It has 171 public parking spots and 35 acres of coastal habitat. Parking is $10 unless you’re a Florida resident with a Beach pass! One thing that sets this beach apart is that the parking lot connects to the beach by a three quarter mile boardwalk. You can either walk it, or hop on a free golf cart ride! All you do after you park is walk to the end of the parking lot where you’ll see this bus stop! The golf carts go all day so it doesn’t usually take long to wait for one. Ours came in about 5 minutes!
The girls were happy I didn’t make them walk and thought the ride was so fun. They also spent their birthday McDonald’s gift card from Grandpa and Grandma Kuiper on way and brought their Happy Meals with them.
When you get dropped off at the beach, you’ll walk past a restaurant called Rhode’s End which has a bar and ice cream cooler!
Keep walking and you’ll hit the beach! There’s an open part of the beach where you can set up your towels and umbrellas, or the resort has chairs you can use too!
Like any place in the Naples, the sand is so white and soft – Emersyn and Mckinley love practicing gymnastics and giving piggy back rides because it doesn’t hurt when you fall.
Good news for all of us moms with kids who always have to go to the bathroom while at the beach and don’t always want to go in the water – there are really nice, clean public restrooms here!
While the girls played I read this book for a little while – such a great one if you’re into mental health /wellness and how the brain functions! Dr. Daniel Amen is a psychiatrist and the work he does is fascinating – I started following him on Instagram when he was down here in Naples on vacation recently and am learning so much from his videos and reels!
Soon after that we headed back home – where we live in North Naples is only about 5 minutes from here! Speaking of mental health, I love that we can make quick trips to the beach so easily! We only stayed for an hour and it was a perfect little escape on the kids’ last day of Easter break!
With that said though, this is definitely a beach you could stay at all day. With the restaurant, bar, and bathrooms right there, it would be a great place to go if you didn’t feel like bringing a huge cooler full of food and drinks and just sort of wanted to show up with towels! Everything else you need is there!
This is the line you get in when you’re ready to head back. The tram came within 5 minutes and drove us the three quarters of a mile back to the parking lot!
The girls were so excited we got to sit in the back seat on the way back!
It was such a great afternoon and made me so excited for summer. The kids get out of school in early May – so crazy that it’s just around the corner!
