Happy Friday, Everybody! After a week and a half of wearing mostly yoga pants and sweatshirts, I decided today was the day I needed a little pick-me-up and feel like a normal person again. I started the day by taking a bath and put on some jeans and a sweater. I then went downstairs and my mom, who came to help for a couple days, asked me if I was going somewhere since I was actually dressed. Nope! And since the doctors have told us we shouldn’t take the girls out in public for a couple months, any outfit I wear will likely not make it beyond the four walls of our house very often.
With chances great that I’ll get spit up on at some point in the day, I most certainly won’t be wearing anything fancy around here. But there’s just something that feels good about putting on real clothes and a little make-up. Plus, I think my husband deserves to see me put together from time to time too.
The other bonus of getting ready today was that I didn’t have to stick to the maternity section of my closet! I love that it feels like I have a new wardrobe again. Now of course a week and a half post-delivery I’m not gonna be sporting anything too form fitting, but I found a baggy sweater that will do just the trick until my tummy has a chance to get back where I’d like it.
Sweater: Forever 21
Jeans: Seven via Marshalls
Shoes: Charming Charlie
Earrings: Charming Charlie
I wasn’t the only one who took some fashion shots this week. My girls had their close-ups done! A huge thanks to Ashleigh Rachel Photography! We met Ashleigh shortly after moving back to MN and she is super creative and talented. I had so much fun with her at our in-home shoot. Head over to her Facebook Page and check out my little beauty queens!
Now I’m off to go eat a delicious chicken casserole that my sweet husband made! He’s so good to me. And then we have another date night on the couch planned after the kids go to bed taking in some March Madness. Minnesota plays tonight and according to Jake it’s a game we can’t miss. š
Have a great weekend!
