Weary MomAs I continue down this road of motherhood, I’m learning that there are moments when I feel completely on top of the world, joy swelling in my heart as I tuck my kids into bed at night. Then there are moments when I feel completely inadequate and clueless, wondering what the heck I’ve gotten myself into. In those moments, dark thoughts start to creep in and all at once I feel defeated. Becoming a mom has without a doubt brought me to my knees more consistently than any other season of my life. I am constantly reminded of my need for a savior, my need for help. I can’t do this on my own. The task is far too great, and the stakes far too high.

Since I was a girl, I’ve felt the closest to the Lord when I am writing to Him. I have stacks of prayer journals that contain my deepest thoughts to the Lord, some years logging many more entries than others. I don’t usually share what we talk about, unless the Holy Spirit leads me to do so. This happens to be one of those times. As I was writing to the Lord, He gave me words that spoke deep into my soul. Words that He knew I needed to hear. We are all in this journey of motherhood together, and my heart tells me some of you may need affirmation as well. Dear sisters, please be encouraged that the Lord is on our side. You may be in the thick of something right now, and he sees you muddling through.

Dear Beautiful Daughter of Mine,

Trust me. Truth wins. I want to fight for you. You are mine. I love you. You are beautiful. I care about you. I love you. I’ll always love you. Even when you don’t feel loved, I love you. Even when you don’t feel deserving of my love, I love you. Even when you are tired, I love you. You are treasured. You are mine. I love you. You are precious. YOU are precious. You are enough. Rest in me. Sit with me. Dine with me. Give yourself completely to me. Bask in my glory, enjoy my peace. I love you. Gain confidence from me, because you are my child and I created you for My purposes. What you are doing matters. Love others. Really love others. Give yourself to them. Sacrifice for them. I want to use you and live through you. I made you a mom because I know you. I know you have what it takes to unconditionally love my children even during the most challenging of moments. I know you will teach them about me, their Heavenly Father. I know you can do this. YOU can do this. It’s busy, and exhausting, I know. But I also know that I designed you to feel most alive when you’re in the center of my will. When you find yourself feeling weary, I will always provide what you need in that moment, you just need to remember to call for me. I’m your lifeline, waiting for you to welcome me into the chaos. You, my dear, are equipped with everything you need to raise those kids. I have given you a unique set of gifts to care for them in a way that only you can. You are a beauty, dear daughter. I love you. Lift up your eyes to the heavens. I am always there, watching over you, protecting you, fighting for you. Trust me, remain in me. Love me, because I certainly love and adore you.

“The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

My heart is with you, friends. You are doing an amazing work.

Hugs to you all!

Love,

Amber
