There have been many seasons in my life when I’ve had to fight long and hard for contentment. It seems that my tendency can be to always look forward to the next stage, which sometimes causes me to neglect to appreciate life happening in the present. Lately, however, I have been soaking up each moment, wanting them to linger a little longer. My heart is full. Full of love for my husband, who leads our family with confidence and selflessness. Full of love for my son, whose tender and joyful spirit melts me every day. Full of love for my daughters, who have stolen my heart with their sweetness. Full of love for my Heavenly Father, who has blessed me with all these precious people.

I told Jake last night that I feel like these are the best years of my life yet. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. It has always been my dream, so I guess it’s natural that now of all times in my life I’d feel content because this is what I feel God has been calling me to for a long time!

I’m not saying my life is perfect or easy. Anyone who has raised up kids knows that every day has new challenges. I’m simply saying I feel humbled and honored that God has chosen me to be a mom to these kids, and that I get to raise them with my best friend. I praise Him for listening to my cry and giving my heart a desire to love these littles like crazy. I never would have thought twins would be part of our story, but God always knew. After nine months of being a bit nervous about how all this would work, the Holy Spirit is giving me grace each day to learn how to raise multiples. I love that God works according what HE knows is best, instead of what we do. Being a part of HIS STORY is so much better than trying to write my own.

A verse that I’ve been worshiping God through this week is:

“Now to Him Who, by the power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].”                          -Ephesians 3:20

Whether you’re at a point in your life when you’re fighting for contentment, or you’re feeling perfectly suited for the task that’s before you, remember that God is the one sustaining you. When you pray, do it respectfully, yet aggresively and boldly. Ask God for all that you want to, as long as you trust Him to do it His way in His timing. God is the almighty God! He is MORE THAN ENOUGH! You have a purpose, no matter how young or old you are. God wants to use you for great things. Let Him!

Love to you all,

Amber

Amen! I love this post so much. Being content is definitely something I’m always having to work on but I certainly can’t do it without God’s daily graces.
