For the first 30 years of my life, I considered myself an emotional eater. When life got the tiniest bit stressful, I would grab a bag of chips or make chocolate chip cookies. A tough day with the kids, being low on sleep, or a small argument with Jake would put me in a downward spiral and I’d run to food for comfort.
I have never been one of those people that can just quit things cold turkey. When I tried in the past to give up junk food and eat healthy, I’ve lasted maybe 48 hours before I was raiding the pantry for a sweet treat. This would always lead to me feeling like a complete failure, feeling defeated yet again, and wondering if I would ever be able to overcome my addiction to comfort foods.
It wasn’t until I used a faith based approach to emotional eating and embraced a loving community that I actually started to make progress. Little by little, I learned that I was created for so much MORE than an endless cycle of defeat! I was created to crave God more than I craved food! I started to run to HIM when life got stressful, and I learned new habits that actually helped me overcome and find victory in this area!
As I sit here tonight, I am so excited because I KNOW that I can help you overcome emotional eating too!
