Hello! It was a good week around these parts. We’re starting to settle into a schedule with the girls, which makes our days feel less chaotic and more manageable. AND, they have been sleeping for a six hour stretch the past couple of nights, which makes Jake and I wake up feeling like we can conquer the world! Sleep is a beautiful thing. The girls are awake for a larger portion of the day now, and we’ve even begun to see a few occasional smiles from them! They LOVE to be near each other, and Mckinley likes to cling to her sister when they’re hanging out, as pictured below. When they’re fussing, they usually calm right down when I put them together. I’m in awe of the twin connection. EmersynMckinleyJake’s mom spent some time with us last week. The girls loved spending time with her!Baylen did too!Bay continues to grow into such a little man, loving all things that involve climbing, outdoors, and anything the “vrooms.”Our deck is right off the kitchen, and I love that I can keep the door open and let him go in and out as he pleases throughout the day. He’s out more than he is in.But when he’s in, he still likes to help mommy vacuum. He’s become quite advanced these days and even reaches the crumbs under the table. Cars. I am amazed at how intrigued he is by Lightning McQueen and Mater! We bought this movie for him a couple weeks ago and he seriously cannot get enough. I turn it on when I’m feeding the girls or need to get something done, and he will JUST SIT. That’s something that this little one doesn’t do much of. When he’s done sitting, you’ll usually find him in search of his next “jungle gym.” Jake’s mom brought this cooler and he had a hay day with it. Tractors. Being a farmer’s grandson, Baylen has his own miniature tractor at home that he rides all over the place. But his little mind was blown when he went to Home Depot and there were big “tractors”. He walked down the line of mowers and insisted on trying out each one. As big as Baylen seems some days, there are moments like this one, when I’m reminded of what a baby he still is. Gosh I love this little guy. This weekend we took the triple stroller on its first spin. Despite a certain little lady screaming for a good chunk of the ride, it was nice to get out and explore our new neighborhood.Baylen loves his “big brother seat.”Jake and Baylen had a lot of fun watching the draft together this weekend. While I think it’s the most boring thing one could ever watch, these boys had a blast. A day soon will come when I’ll have ladies to share girl moments with and won’t have to endure the draft anymore! But for now, I’m enjoying life where it’s at.
Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
